I cna't find any Symantec folder but this file refers to it.

Help,
,Is this a Virus?
How can I remove S32VNT1.DLL ?
It slows my system to a crawl.

it is generally not possible to identify a virus by symptoms or
filenames alone... if you think you have a virus, scan your drive... if
you think you have a virus your scanner doesn't detect, try a different
scanner or send a suspect file to your anti-virus developer for analysis...

There are several ways. You will need to do a google on the filename (it is
actually s32evnt1.dll) to see which way to remove the entries.

The actual messege I get "16 Bit Windows Subsystem
C:\PROGRA~1\Symantec\S32EVNT1.DLL. An installable Virtual Device Driver
failed Dll initialization. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application"

I looked for solutions on Google, but all suggestions and links are old.
Don't seem to work.

See if the following fixes the 16bit error message...

AUTOEXEC.NT Fix Method 1:
copy; %windir%\repair\autoexec.nt
to
%windir%\system32

AUTOEXEC.NT FIX Method 2:
Go to; Start --> Run
enter; cmd.exe

{ assuming the Win2K or WinXP CDROM disk is in drive "D:" }
In the Command Prompt enter...
expand D:\i386\autoexec.nt_ %windir%\system32\autoexec.nt

Note: the %windir% is the environmental variable that points to the Windows Root Directory
which is usually c:\winnt on Win2K and NT4 and c:\windows on WinXP

Even though the solutions and links are old, doesn't mean that they aren't
relevant. The bible is old, but it is still relevant today. Don't discard
tried and tested old methods.
