What is /recycle switch

I installed Outlook 2007. After shutting down, I found the icon in menu at
bottom right of screen and used it to start Outlook. I reconfigured Outlook.
I now see the icon had the /recycle switch. What does this do?

It means Outlook is started using an existing Outlook window, if one exists
