I'm using Outlook 2003 with BCM. What does "Open Shared Contacts" do?

When I press it, it asks me to select a name... so I select John Doe out of
my list of all contacts

Then I get yellow-triangle-exclamation icon with error message...

"Unable to display folder, Your profile is not configured to support this
operation for this user"

What's this mean? If I were configured, what capability would I have? How
can I get configured?

Thanks,
George

That feature works with mailboxes on Microsoft Exchange server (on SBS) and
allows you to view contacts in another person's mailbox.

Thanks, Sue. Being a layman...would MS Exchange server be something a small
business would have to manage all its PC's and email and host websites?

Therefore, with only 2 PC's and a router, I'm assuming I couldn't use "Open
Shared Contacts" at all, at the moment, right?

Would it be worth getting MS Exchange server, or are we talking I need a
hardware server and 100 hours of setup time, plus 100 hours of learning
curve?

Or would it be worth it...are there other benefits with having this setup?

Thanks

Microsoft has a server package called Small Business Server that includes
not just Exchange (and licenses for Outlook), but also Windows 2003 Server,
other server applications, and web-based tools to manage them rather
painlessly. It's still probably overkill for two PCs, though, and would
require its own server hardware and some study (<100 hours).

If you have broadband Internet access, you can buy Exchange accounts for
about $10-15 per month and let someone else do the heavy lifting.
