Hi,
I have a process running in my task manager which I haveno
clue what it is and have not been able to find any
information on in the web. Since I have had problems with
adware lately (got them all cleaned) I wonder if this is a
remaining trojan or the like.

Image name in Task Manager is:
nogvyyoe.exe
Associated Username is my logon.
I use XP Professional on a Dell Latitude laptop,

Thanks for any suggestion or help.

Regards,

Shahab,

Had a little look around and can't find any information
about that specific process thread. So there are a
number of actions you could take,

Firstly ensure the your Anti-Virus is up-to-date,
therefore if it is something untoward, then that will
pick it up.

It does sound like something possibly from the SpyWare
region, so run Adware or Search and Destroy so see if it
picks it up.

If it doesnt pick anything up then, post back and we can
try to get to the bottom of it.

Regards

Files with this type of random naming are almost always a virus, trojan or spyware.

1) Ensure your Antivirus software is up to date.
2) Reboot your computer Safe Mode and re-scan your system from there.
3) Visit www.lavasoftusa.com for AdAware and/or www.safer-networking.org for SpyBot Search and Destroy.

If your AV software reports that you have a virus, make a note of the specific name. Often, it is necessary to perform additional cleanup steps, not just delete the virus file.

Your AV Software manufacturer's web site will have information on the detailed removal process.

If you don't have AV software installed, there are a number of free online scanners available.
