what is my root web

I'm trying to create a password protected site in Frontpage but I'm not sure
what my root web is? can anyone help?
 
Your root web is your top level web (not any subweb or folder w/i that web/site)
- usually something like http://www.yoursitenmame.com/ when you open it in FP
