What is mobsync.???

[Major Malfunction]

I am troubleshooting spyware on a small network. Two of the Windows 2000
desktops show mobsynch in the run portion of the registry key and the target
programs (*.exe and *.dll) are located in the root directory. My server has
the files, but they are not being called. Properties identify these programs
as Microsoft in origin.

Is this a legitimate program?

What does this control?

It is a part of IE. It runs the "View pages offline"
feature

If they're located in the root, they're probably evil. Mobsync.exe and
mobsync.dll should be located in the system32 folder. Mobsync is not in
any of the run keys on my Win2K system.

The OP said the programs were located in the root folder. That's
not normal for any Windows component.
