Is there way to find what is max hard drive size supported by motherboard
?(Chaintech CT-6OJV2, BIOS type Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG )? The drive size
limitation can be a combination of the drive controller and the system Bios.
The MB is discontinued and have no support from manufacturer.

Not only has the manu ceased support for updates, but they no longer list
any chipset and other drivers.
With this in mind do you think it wise to attempt to upgrade to a different
o/s? (win2k)
Specially baring in mind the number of posts you made with regard, I
believe, this system.

I believe, that updating is quite reasonable and will allow to breathe new
life in this system. MB manufacturer still have some chipset and drivers on
they Ftp, although this MB is not supported, however. The MB is not so bad.
Just a few details require amplification. However, good manufacturer must
provide a minimum of 10 years of support.

Why MUST they supply a minimum of 10 years support?
Is this from start of manufacture or end of manufacture?
Please expand your rational, technically and economically, for this demand.
