What is 'malicious software removal tool'?

I have receved a message telling me that Microsoft has a download available
re the above. I have to accept their condituions to do so. I have previously
done so and am set for 'automatic updates. I have XP.

This newsgroup is for questions about Microsoft Access, the database
management program. The name of the newsgroup may have misled you to think
it was a newsgroup for "public access" to Microsoft.

Try one of the Windows XP newsgroups, perhaps:

microsoft.public.windowsxp.basics

This newsgroup is about Microsoft Access security, not general Windows
security. I will say, though, that if by 'message' you mean an e-mail
message, you should be very wary of it. It could easily be a hoax, and not
from Microsoft at all. To check for genuine Microsoft updates, go to
www.microsoft.com and follow the Windows Update and Office Update links from
there.
