What is mail.mar ??

Andy

Hey there. I installed the MS Antispy Beta and upon
signing into my MSN Mail account I get a message that
mail.mar has been blocked.

Does anyone know what that is?

I think it is something that is associated with my MSN
software and services but I am not sure. Everyting seems
to work ok with out it, but I wonder is the AntiSpyware
blocking something that should be OK??

How do I fix it?

ALSO-- My Norton Internet Security always blocks a UDP
or TCP when I sign in to MSN. It says "such and such
computer is trying to access your system" . I always
block it, but is it part of MSN that should be allowed?
(I have MSN Premium mail service.)

Are these two things related?

Thanks for your help!

From Bill Sanderson:
Just for reinforcement: Yes--this is essentially a bug in the beta
product--this url is associated with passport validation in several
products, as noted in this thread--it is fine to allow it.

there's a message from Steve Dodson, of Microsoft, in these groups giving
that information. I
guess the support folks at MSN aren't perfect--I'd suggest going back to
them and asking them to check further--this can't be the first time the
question has come up.

Here 'ya go:

this in a future release.
