This is a new one on me... my Security software keeps giving me a slide-in
alert "the application lfnbbo.exe is trying to access the internet" then
Grant access or not? I looked in the registry and there is no info as to
what application this refers. I think it's spyware but adaware hasn't
caught it...any ideas???

Hi

If there is a reference to that file in msconfig>startup? If so, uncheck it
then reboot your system.

Have you virus-checked your system with latest definitions for your AV
program and also checked for any spyware that may be on your system:

Ad-Aware - www.lavasoftusa.com
Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/
CWShredder - http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

CW shredder caught something as did McAfee Viruscan (alerted me to adware
from my other user no doubt imported when he uses IM) and now that
mysterious item has gone. Thanks for the help. I'll warn him not to open
attachments sent thru' IM

Hi

I can't find any reference to that file ATM. If it is on your hard
disk/partition - either delete it to the Recycle Bin or rename it - to see
if you get any problems.

Thanks Will. There are quite a few helpers at Merjin (CW shredder etc.
etc.) I saved them all.
