What is 'hot-plugged'?

I am getting a window a few times a day now, that Is occurring without
my having added any hardware whatsoever.

The window says

Some device(s) have been hot-plugged in/out, information displays or
devices will be updated

I wonder where this came from. The one thing that I have done
recently, was to pinch the molex connectors that I have been having
trouble with (see my earlier posts).

It would seem you still have an intermittent power or data
cable problem. I wonder if anything in windows is logging
which device this is, perhaps in Event Viewer?

Oh boy!
Maybe a molex I pinched is causing the problem. There are only two -
my two HDDs.
