I am a satisfied user of EZ Antivirus, but now I have to renew my
subscription and that proves to be impossible.

I do not live in the US, but the script behind the webpages through
which you should be able to order subscriptions insists that I enter a
valid US zipcode. For 'state' you can enter 'Non US', which I did.

I have tried to e-mail them, but no result. Their webpage through which
you are supposed to be able to contact them is missing the SUBMIT
button.

Do I have to go to another vendor?

Enter the zip code 20202 - that's downtown Washington, DC, which
should qualify for "Non US" said:

Why not switch to a free one? I've been using Avast! for a couple of
years; it's quite good. Updates are generally daily (sometimes more
often) and are *small* - from 2 to 10KB. Yes, Kilobytes.

The program is updated regularly also, the current version is
4.6.691, dated July, 2005. I updated it yesterday.

Ah yes, true as well. I got my update early this morning.

I agree - I had the devil's own job of getting in touch with them at first.
I found myself going round and round in circles. I had lost my original
registration e-mail address and thus their system wouldn't recognise me;
trying to e-mail them and telling them about this seemed fruitless.
Sorry - I can't recall just how I finally got through to them, but follow my
example and take great care to make a copy in a text editor of everything
you send them, including the names of everyone who responded. Forms are the
very devil when it comes to following up with customer service departments.

You can also grab their free version at -

After that, you will have no problem communicating with them, BELIEVE ME!
For about a month before that expires you will find yourself receiving
posts almost daily suggesting you renew-and-pay.

Do you have the URL for that page? If the page uses JavaScript to submit
its data, it may be possible to grab the HTML source, add an appropriate

You probably don't *have* to go to another vendor -- but you might *want*
to (and then let Computer Associates know why they just lost a sale).

Might try another browser to see if the web page is complete.

I thought their subscription renewal process needed a lot of changes. I
had 2 free subscriptions and wanted to buy one. I received e-mail after
email to both email boxes, I renewed one early and paid full price which
was a $29.95 - fair. The other one ran out and then started to receive
discounted rates. I think I saved another $10 by waiting - a deal. I use
only the AV portion because firewalls are everywhere and I use a linux
firewall( cant beat that price). I use version 7 of EZAV where the
version bundled with the firewall is V6.

I think its great software. CA if you are listening - It needs more
options in its command line( like output file same as realtime scanner -
this seems like a no-brainer) and it needs to search more archive types
like zip, rar, Z, gz, tar, jar etc. If i schedule it to scan at night
and I logout it will scan when I log on. I like to scan at night
eventhough no one is logged on and I NEVER, -I mean NEVER - want it to
scan when I logon in the morning. I could do this in V6 but V7 lost this
ability(due to command line changes). Its important because if the
viral update is delayed and I get infected before I can detect it then I
need to scan for it once I get the signature. I could always wait until
the virus rears its head and let the real time scanner deal with it but
thats not proactive.
