IIRC, Ctfmon "exe" is a module of the Zone Alarm firewall program. Do you have ZoneAlarm on this pc?
If you do NOT have ZoneAlarm. then you can ditch that file. But be aware it can be a pain removing all traces of it in the registry.

Not to throw you off, or to confuse you ---- but Ctfmon "DLL" is altogether different, AND that beasty would indicate a worm infection.

CTFMon is involved with the language/alternative input services in Office
XP. CTFMON.exe will continue to put itself back into MSConfig when you run
the Office XP apps as long as the Text Services and Speech applets in the
Control Panel are enabled. Not required if you don't need these features.

No, it most certainly is not!
It's is part of Microsoft Office and has absolutly no connection with Zone
Alarm what so ever.
Where does Microsoft get these "MVPs" who have no clue and why do thay
inflict them on us! (no reflection on the REAL MVPs who have a clue.)
