What is an OEM version of XP?

I think you are making a mistake Paul. As an individual
you cannot purchase an Original Equipment Manufacturer
copy of XP. This is sold stictly to large computer firms
to install on their machines for retail. You have to
purchase a retail version of XP HE or XP PRO. Your OEM
computer will come with a recovery disk which usually has
their name on it and a full copy of XP in case you need to
do a repair or reinstallation. Once the installation is
complete you will need to reactivate the copy either on
line or by phone. There is no limit to the number of times
you can reactivate the same copy of your XP. Good luck.

Utter nonsense. Where ever do you get these ideas? Anyone can
legally purchased a generic OEM CD and license along with a qualifying
piece of hardware.
