when I start up the following tab appears on the desktop titled "smart bridge
alert BThelp notifier.exe entry point not found", the message in the box
states "the procedure entry point GetprocessimagefilenameW not located in
link PSAP1.DLL". I click Ok and nothing obvious doesn't happen but should I
be worried? This has not appeared before, running windowsXP on Dell
Dimension 5000 and advice - as always - much appreciated, thanks. Steve

If you've recently installed IE7 then you might want to go to
this newsgroup.

Discussions in Internet Explorer General
http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...?dg=microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

Enter GetProcessImageFileNameW and PSAPI.DLL in the Search box.
I
think you'll find several threads dealing with that issue.

You might also want to take a look at these articles.

Release Notes for Internet Explorer 7

Also, look here,

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=GetProcessImageFileNameW&btnG=Google+Search

Bottom line is you need to search your computer for any file
named PSAPI.DLL and rename those that are not in the
C:\WINDOWS\System32 folder.

Good luck

Thanks, IE7 was auto installed t'other day, I'd have said no if I'd knonn it
was going to be a pain in the Gates! Advide much appreciated.

<QP>
This error message may be due to a program or programs (currently identified
"culprits" include Motive SmartBridge, Hal Screen Reader and Supernova
Reader Magnifier by Dolphin) that ship with an older version of PSAPI.DLL
Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located
in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL

To work around this error:

Navigate to the installation location for SmartBridge (\Program
Files\Verizon...\Smart...)
Find PSAPI.DLL and rename it to something like PSAPIOLD.DLL
Reboot the system
The program will find the new PSAPI.DLL in the \Windows\System32 directory
and function normally.

did it at the time and now I've forgotten what to do so if you do find out
would you let me know thanks
