I need to know about the Difference between a normal Windows Xp
installer and that of a Windows XP Service packs(1 or 2 whatever) and
which can I opt for a better result?

And can I use a Servie pack on a PIII 850 Mhz processor with a RAM of
128MB memory?

Service packs are simply a set of software improvements, bug
corrections, drivers update, ...

you should now use XP with SP2 installed.

A collection of bug patches and general updates all collected and
stuffed into one convenient package.

WinXP SP1 is windows XP patched up to the first Service Pack
WinXP SP2 is windows XP patched up to the second Service Pack
WinXP SP3 is windows XP patched up to the third Service Pack

Typically the service packs are cumulative, so if you install SP3,
you'll get all the updates in SP2 and SP1 as well.

If your computer can run the operating system, it can run the patches
to update it. That said, an 850MHz system with only 128megs of RAM
isn't really an ideal system to be running windowsXP.

Hello everybody,
Does this exist yet?

No, it does not. But I think some weeks ago I read about the date when
this SP will be released. For sure nothing is known in detail but any M$
employee talked about the plans of M$.

To the original question: You've to be careful what the setup is for.
"Windows XP Service Pack 2" can mean that this is only the setup for the
service pack itself but it could also be the setup of Windows XP
including the SP.

Not yet. Parts of it do in that all of the updates that are likely to
make it up are being put up as Microsoft patches XP, but there's no
actual service pack 3 yet -- at least not for XP.

I just got a little carried away with my examples.

Basiclly a software update to 'fix' some of the bugs in the operating system
( and introduce a whole lot of new ones) your machine will run a lot
slower of course and consumer more resource but folks here
can advise you on which new computer system to buy and build
when you install the 'update'.

Kony and ~misfit~ shoud be your first port of call here, they have many
year of experience in this field.
If you need more money one of the finance groups will be able
to advise you on a 'good loan' to take out.

Backing up your old system might be a good 'first move'.

There is no need to upgrade a system for a service pack.
SP2 might up the memory utilization by a few MB but not
enough to warrant parts changes.
