What is a BLOG / Help for building a calendar

Hi,
I have to build a calendar in my application and am reading an article in
MSDN magazine where there is little bit talk about calendars but they also
talk about blogs and I don't know what that is.

Can somebody tell me what a BLOG is? .... and of couse, any reference for
building a calendar (smtg like calendar in outlook expres) would be
appreciated as well.
 
BLOG = WebLog = Many Mindless Rants by people that shouldn't.... Except for
some, =)

No kidding.. they are weblogs, but people usually post like issues they came
across and how they solved them to help other coders... I really should have
one.. =)
