what image format?

Hello,
I need to use some graphic on Access forms to be used as buttons for
database usage.
I was wondering about which format should I use to best suite this task,
TIFF?...BMP?...

Can you please provide me which are the supported format on the different
version of Access?

I need it for:
ACCESS 2000
ACCESS XP
ACCESS 2003
