I installed MS Office Publisher 2003. I thought it
updated my contacts into the new version of Outlook 2003.
How do I get all my old contacts/journal entries into my
new version of Outlook?

Why would you think that installing Publisher would update your Outlook
contacts?
 
When you update any software program, the previous data is
brought along and imported into the new software.

The MS Office has Excel, Outlook, Access, Word.

My question is why didn't the info follow the upgrade?

Any ideas?

But you didn't say that. YOU said, "why didn't the installation of
Publisher upgrade my contacts" to which the reply given by Sue Mosher was
perfectly logical.
 
You didn't say that you installed Office. You said you installed Publisher.
Did you install both Office and Publisher? If so, what version of Outlook
were you previously using? On the same machine?

My my, thank you so much for pointing that out. I
thought I responded to Sue and corrected myself on my
first initial post.

Now that we are on the same page, please help me
understand why it didn't upgrade properly.

Hey Sue.

The box says MS Office Professional Edition 2003. My
helper read it as publisher... or I could have
misunderstood... I'm sorry for the confusion.

Originally, I had Outlook 2002.

So, I never installed Publisher. I did uninstall the $200
upgrade and eventually found my contacts.

My problem now is that I'm afraid to install the new one.
Is there a proper way to install the upgrade that I missed
the first time?

Upgrading the version of Outlook from 2002 to 2003 doesn't do anything to
your existing data. If you start Outlook 2003 with the same profile that you
were using for Outlook 2002, you should see the same data. If you see
something else, tell us what the symptoms are.
