Hi group

I am not at all computer literate and need to use microsoft powerpoint as part of my coursework. i have been told that as i have Microsoft office and Word that i should already have this installed and it is just a case of finding it, but I cant. Also I hav looked through my documentation and it sys if I look in activDoc! it will tell me wht my software is, but i cant find this either. I know this may sound like silly question, but i really need some help.

Thank

Click on START / All Programs. If Powerpoint is installed, it should be
listed. If it is listed, just click on it. After that, use the Powerpoint
Help function to learn how to use it.

Who told you that you have Office. If you haven't installed Office XP yourself then you don't have it. Office is not part of the XP OS. If you have Office installed then the components you talk about will show under the start\all programs list. {:~)

When installing MS Office, you get to choose what components of it to
install. Maybe PowerPoint was not included. Go into Add/Remove Programs
and click the Change button for MS Office. In the component tree of what to
install (or not), see if PowerPoint is listed, then check it to install.
Have the install CD ready.

You could also check if you actually have the executable file to start the
PowerPoint program. Mine was found at:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\POWERPNT.EXE

Some versions of Office do NOT include PowerPoint. Check in the
documentation that came with your copy what version you have.
