I meant to hit <CTL> + <SHIFT> + <DOWNARROW> to select a column of data
but instead I hit <CTL> + <ALT> + <DOWNARROW>
and now everything is upside down!
Tried repeating <CTL> + <ALT> + <DOWNARROW> but no change.

Can anyone tell me what I have done, and even more important how to correct
it.

Tried closing and rebooting but everything, including Windows is still
upside down.

Have WindowsXP and Office ProXP.

Many thanks,
Dave Moore

Dave,

It sounds like Ctrl+Alt+Down is a shortcut for a function in your
video driver software. Turning the screen upside down is a useful
feature in laptops. For example, it allows you to properly
display the screen to someone sitting across the table from you
when the screen is flat on the table.

I would look in the system tray area (down, or up, by the clock)
for an icon for your video settings. Also, I would try the
logical opposite of what you did. What does Ctrl+Alt+Up Arrow do?
Does Ctrl+Alt-Down Arrow restore the display?

You might also try looking in the video settings by going to
desktop, right-clicking, and choosing Setup. Poke around in that
dialog for "orientation" or something like that.
