What have I done and can it be undone?

Got a new/used laptop with Win2000Pro installed. At some
point, while 'customizing' it, I was prompted to 'add
user'. I stupidly did. When I boot up now, I can ONLY
get in with my name and pw and have no access to a lot of
stuff because I'm not the 'administrator'. Bought this
computer with OS installed because I'm no good at techie
stuff... Have I totalled messed up? Is there a way out?
Thanks!

try here if it's automatically logging you on as that user..

Otherwise, just delete the %winnt%\system32\config\SAM. file and you can
then logon as administrator with no password
