What Happens if server you seized roles from comes back online?

I have a DC that because of hardware failure has crashed. When i replace
the hardware and turn back on what would i expect to see if i have already
seized the FSMO roles to another server. Should i be very careful and
disconnect the server from the network or will it not hurt anything. If so
i will rebuild the server when i get it back working.

Bad things -- don't do it. Bring the "original role holder" online only
long
enough to do a DCPromo (to remove AD).

You can then do a NEW DCPromo if you wish it to again be a DC.

MS Technet says don't return the role holder and never fully explains why.
I did it once and the domain was just intermittently flaky in little ways
until
I DCPromo'd away the original holder. After than, things were fine.

It won't cause any great problems for the 10 minutes it takes to start
DCPromo to remove AD.
