What happens if Intel Ap Accel is uninstalled?

According to the FAQs for Nero Ultra 6, having the Intel Application
Accelerator installed (P4C800-ED motherboard) can reduce the maximum drive
speed and it is recommended by Nero to uninstall IAA. What ramifications
will occur if I no longer have IAA installed just to appease NERO (please
don't tell me to move over to Roxio--been there and was glad to run away as
fast as I could and I have been a Nero fan since ver. 5.5).

There are at least three Intel files and you shouldn't mix them
up.

Chipset drivers have INFINST in the file name, and those stay.

IAA is used for bus mastering on older motherboards. Newer boards
have bus mastering drivers in the MS OS, so IAA isn't needed as
such any more.

Intel, in a fit of cleverness, made their new driver for _RAID_
named IAAR. I don't expect Nero is referring to this, since it
controls RAID arrays.

My guess is the Nero warning would apply to older motherboards
using IAA. If your newer motherboard uses IAAR, then the warning
doesn't apply to you.

My opinion is "relax and enjoy". No action required.
