What Happened To The Other Groups?

The groups are not down. I see you're posting via Microsoft's web-based
portal, my guess would be that perhaps there is some problem with the
portal.
 
Can anyone tell us all how long the other groups will be
down?

As Brendan says, the newsgroups are fine - there has apparently been a
problem with one of the numerous ways to get to those groups, the
Microsoft support webpage.

Try the webpage again and see if it's back up (I've heard that most of
the groups now are), or - maybe better - use a real newsreader such as
Outlook Express. Select msnews.microsoft.com as the news server and
you'll get faster, simpler, more reliable text-based newsgroup
service.
