What happened to slideshow?

I just replaced a PC using ME with a new one that uses
2000. In ME all my pictures could be viewed as a
slideshow. This was a really convenient feature. Now that
I've migrated all my photos to the account I created on
the new PC that has 2000 as the OS, I can preview an image
but I don't see available the option to view all pictures
in that folder as a slideshow. I can't believe this
feature would have been dropped. What am I doing wrong?

Win2000 is older than WinME, and this functionality came first with WinME,
and was later included in WinXP.

....so you are to upgrade, or to use 3rd-party software, such as
www.IrfanView.com

Personally i don't like WinXP - i often had GUI frozen for 1-4 seconds,
for example when inserted CD and when using some apps.
It was like poor old Win98 (and gues WinMe too), so afterall i still
prefer Win2000 :-)
