What happened to John Kennedy? (Not JFK - the other one)

Hi, all

If you've been around the world of Windows CE for any length of time, you've
probably encountered John Kennedy. He wrote one of my favourite PPC
programs, Pocket Universe, as well as one of my favourite PPC games,
TankZone. He started working for Microsoft a couple (?) of years ago, and
wrote several instalments of the MSDN 'Two for the Road' column.

Now his web site (www.stellarmetrics.com) is dead, and he hasn't written an
MSDN column for over 6 months.

Anyone know what's become of him?

I have looked for John almost everywhere. I knew him when he lived in the UK
and had "Stickie Software" and then saw him when he and his wife moved to
Redmond a few years back. Last I knew, they were in the process of having a
baby, that he was not so happy at Microsoft as he was a tech writer. I have
tried his Microsoft email (dead) and his old ones also (these are dead also)
and cannot find a thing on him as he was very active as you say in the
Pocket World., I still have Pocket Universe and his battery monitor.
I have done web searches, called information in Redmond (he only lived about
2 miles from me) even asked the place where he used to live and no luck at
all.
It is weird about him just dropping off the earth ! If I can ever find
anything, will be glad to post it as I really liked John and thought highly
of him.

Wow, well I have to say it's nice to be missed!

I'm alive and well, thanks for all your concern! A few things, ok, a
lot of things, have been going on including my WebSite hosting company
going into Chapter 11 which probably help give the impression I was no
more.

and I'm happy to hear from anyone regarding software support at

As for Pocket Universe, I've been programming away on a complete
ground-up re-write (don't ask me what happened to my original source
code, sob), and playing with all sorts of other things.

As for my personal life, well, there have been changes there too, but
none that anyone else will find too interesting. I'm still living in
the US.

Hey its good to hear from you ! I checked all over the place shortly after
you came on board with MS and no luck at all, just one person commented
about thinking you had gone back to the UK as I remember the winter you came
was one of our worse ones I think we had, so I thought that perhaps the
rotten weather had scared you off. Its good to hear from you, Try to stay in
touch !
