What happened to Cam Studio?

Hi:

I was looking for Cam Studio.

I found Version 2, but they have a Version 2.6 out that will create SWF
files.

I found a new version of Cam Studio. Only problem is it wants Email to
unlock the app, and looks like a ripoff of the Rendersoft Cam Studio open
source (or all links I found point to there).

Anyone have/know of where I can find the Cam Studio 2.6 without web
accessing (for registration.. not sure how safe net accessing apps are).

Are you referring to :

It's not v2.6 but v2.1.051 and is supposed to create SWF files :

It's about 9.4mb (v2.0 was 1.4mb). Most of that increase seems due to the inclusion of RoboDemo :

http://www.ehelp.com/products/robodemo

which is NOT free ... which is eHelp commericial product for creating SWF files.

I installed it briefly before removing it by restoring my C Drive from a Ghost backup I took just before trying it. While it was running it showed ads for RoboDemo. I don't think it tried to dial home ... wasn't online anyway.
