What happened to a useful backup utility ?

The have removed the ntbackup utility and added an "AOL-Like" toy. You
cannot select directories or files that you want to backup.

You can select the drive and the file-type, and thats about it.

I was trying not to join the complainers but I have burned most of 3 days
trying to break down Vista's barriers to getting any work done. I guess I
will have to reconnect my XP drive before Monday so I can get some work
done.

Has anyone found a better backup utility in Vista that I missed ?

Another option if you still have an XP system around is to copy
ntbackup.exe, ntmsapi.dll and vssapi.dll over to Vista. It appears
that NTBackup works on Vista. I haven't done any testing yet so YMMV,
but it's worth a try.

Dan,

Thanks a bunch. I tried your advice and it seems to work. Need to rename the
vista vssapi.dll.

I'm a big miscrosoft fan but this new backup is a complete joke.
