Hi,

My problem is, I had ask my ISP to add an MX record onto the DNS. But I had
already got another MX record.

e.g.

abc.edu.hk 398 MX10 mail.abc.edu.hk
abc.edu.hk 398 MX10 intranet.abc.edu.hk

host mail.abc.edu.hk can sent mail out, but not received.
host intranet.abc.edu.hk is down.

I want the mail message gone to mail.abc.edu.hk, do I needed to change the
10? or is the a way I can do at my end without involve the ISP?

Thank,

Remove the MX record that points to the mail server host name that has the
private address (intranet.abc.edu.hk). MX records are not needed for
internal Mail servers. Having it in there is the problem.

Thank Kevin,

But both are had public IP address, the intranet.abc.edu.hk was a mail
server until the mail service is not working. The mail.abc.edu.hk is using
an new or newly added mail server.

Thank for telling me I needed to remove the intranet.abc.edu.hk MX record
but can I keep it for the second mail server later?

Thank,

It will still get mail set to it, if there is no mail server for the name or
on the IP it will cause problems.
