Hey guys, I think it's a good idea to try and compile a list of games that
aren't working properly on Windows Vista at this stage. So if we keep it
clean and organised like so:

Name of game:
Vista build#:
UAC on/off:
CPU:
Video:
Audio:
Chipset:
Problem and error messages:

I'll try and verify with the selection I have here on 5728 and point this
thread out in the private groups so some of the developers can have a look.

Fire away. 8-)

Fable
Build 5728
AMD xp2600
nvidia 6600 gt 128 meg
SB Audigy 2
Nvidia Nforce 3 chipset
graphics dissapear once in a while

I have tried some steam games, I played HalfLife2 and stopped because it was
sooooo slow and it was "stuttering.
RTCW plays perfect, no problems at all!

Company of Heroes

Build 5728
Turion X2 MT-50 (1.6GHz)
Geforce 6150
2GB RAM
Conexant HDA (MS driver)
Game ran fine before the 5728 update, still runs but is extremely stuttery

World of Warcraft

5600

UAC on and I am not sure if this is what is causing the problem (honestly it
is also a little annoying, butI am chalking that up to its new and Ineed to
et used to it)

Athlon xp3000
2GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce 6600 (PNY)
SoundBlaster Audigy 2ZS
ASUS A7n8x - Nvidia nForce2

Game launches and runs fine (music on launch screen is not there ay more).
Once in the game it is almost unbearable. The lag (or chugging along) makes
the game almost unplayable for anything other then just waling around a town.
I have tried to mess with the sounds and the video settings to see what
happens. I also just took a moment and closed the Sidebar which I had a
bunch of stuff on as I noticed in taskman the cou wa running around 50 on
that process.

My game is:

Sacred (by Ascaron)
Vista build: RC1 5600 32bit
UAC: Off

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 (1.86ghz)
2gb DDR2 SDRam
256mb Ati Radeon X1300 Pro (PCI)
Integrated 7.1 HD Audio

Problem: When I load the gme up, the graphic does not work as well. I get
the images of the screen beginning to flicker and such. Cannot turn the
game into windowed mode, only full screen mode.

Ravynne.

Prince of Persia - The Sands of Time & Prey
RC1 5600
off
Intel 3.2
MSI Geforce 6600LE 256MB PCI-Express
"Built-In" RealTek AC'97
MSI 915GM2
The game didn't work before, on xp too, but after installing the latest
nVidia driver the game worked, but the problem now is that in the middle of
the game the screen freezes even though I can hear it playing..

Special Forces expanison to install.

I've also been unable to install official plug-ins for Oblivion, although
the game and pacth install fine.

don;t work correctly and every time I play in many cases I have to restart
the computer manualy

Links 2003: can play offline with no problems at all, but can not play
online. When I try to host a game, my partner gets a connection failed error
and if I try to join his game, I can get in, but the game crashes as soon as
he hits the Play button. I tried it with the firewall on and off, UAC on and
off, network discovery on and off, local network private and public.

Vista x64 RC2 5744
UAC: off
CPU: Sempron 3400+
Video: Radeon 9600XT
Audio: Realtek AC'97
Chipset: Nvidia 3 250

regarding Lego Star Wars II.

I had this problem on my other PC running WinXP Pro. Solution: There's
another exec, not at game PC at the moment, but the file has *2k.exe in it.
Try that, worked for me.
It's a big hiccup with that game.
I am currently running this on Vista RC1 without a problem.
The main game problem I am currently having is Doom3, when I load a savegame
there's no picture, I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del, then the picture comes back.
Prob a prob with Nvidia drivers.

But where are you going to post the list? A newsgroup isn't very good
because you can't really pin it like a forum. It's just going to scroll
away in a short time. Why don't you host on a website? Or maybe we could
all just use Widipedia.

Age of Mythology (Microsoft)

Online play works, but no wins/losses are recorded. The stats server is not
compatible with IE7, so there is a problem on Windows XP as well if you have
IE7 installed. I was a Windows Vista beta tester, this issue was reported,
but never resolved

Name of game: Arvoch Conflict
Vista build#: Retail Release 32-bit
UAC on/off: Tried both on and off
CPU: AMD 3400+
Video: Radeon 9800 Pro and tried GeForce 8800
Audio: Onboard
Chipset: AMD Socket 939
Problem and error messages: Any menu with a lot of text on the screen drops
the framerate down to 5-10 framers per second. Occurs in virtually all menus
and during gameplay when text is onscreen. Happens in other games as well
(when text, sprites, or other 2D graphics are on screen), making them
virtually unplayable.

I was hoping it might just be video drivers, but the GeForce 8800 has the
same exact problems as the Radeon 9800 Pro, so it's likely something with the
operating system. All of the same games run just fine on XP (30+ FPS
consistently on the same systems).

FABLE: The Lost Chapters is not working on my HP laptop with vista!
I meet and exceed the system requirements but it is still not working but
works on my old Toshiba laptop with some texture problems because the intel
graphics chip can't cut it. A friend has my same laptop but digressed to XP
and has no problem playing the game. I can't get help from MS because when I
try to email for support it asks for a Product ID and I can't seem to find it
on my box... tried every number I found with no luck.

HELLO Microsoft this is YOUR GAME... WE NEED A PATCH! FIX VISTA NOW PLEASE!

Symptoms:
Plays through fine up to the second part where the kid starts vomiting...
then the cut-scene blacks out and that's it... black screen with sounds... I
can hear when I click my mouse or hear the menu sounds when I press <escape>.
