What exactly does "Delete" do in Norton's Quarrentine?
I happend to actualy get a virus today its in Quarrentine. Does deleteing it
mean that it is removed from the computer or simply removed from quarrentine
and put back where it was. The wording included in norton's help file is
very unclear and their website is a joke when looking for answers. Any help?

It should be taken literally. Delete means just that; it's zapped; no
longer available (maybe with data recovery software you could find it).
Therefore, you should be sure the file is malicious, before you hit the
delete key.

I believe that it deletes them in the sense that they
are not (easily) recoverable. They do not go to
the recycle bin as is the case with "Windows"
delete, nor do they get put back where they were
before (this would be restore rather than delete).

i'm pretty sure it means it was deleted from your computer... putting
it back where it was would be more like 'restoring' it...

I always asked the same question. I just select ignore, write down
the file name, and delete the file from Dos. That way I know for sure
it's gone.

Deleting a file when in the Quarrantine manager deletes the file from your
computer. I no longer bother to go there. I just have an automatically
scheduled command run every day:

cmd /c del /q "c:\program files\norton antivirus\quarantine\*.*"
