What does XP stand for in 'Windows XP'?

Hey - look. There's this question again.

If I remember correctly (don't feel like searching in past messages or with
google) the ACTUAL answer is eXPerience.

Let's wait and see what everyone else comes up with!

Windows 95 refers to the 1995 version of Windows,
Windows 98 refers to the 1998 version of Windows,
Windows 2000 refers to the 2000 version of Windows,
Windows NT for New technology,
Windows ME for Millennium Edition,
Windows XP for Experience.

As explained in my Text Book "Understanding Computers, Today and
Tomorrow" from school (Austin Community College).

Actually, although "NT" originally stood for "New technology,"
Microsoft's stance these days is that it doesn't stand for
anything.
