What does this error mean?

Lets say johnsmith is the licensed user of Outlook 2003 on a server computer.
One of my computers with BCM gets this error, "SQL server not found:
tcp:johnsmith\MICROSOFTSMLBIZ,56183"
 
In this:johnsmith\MICROSOFTSMLBIZ,56183

johnsmith is the computer hosting the database
MICROSOFTSMLBIZ is the sql server instance on that computer
56183 is the tcp port used by that instance
