Hi
I'd be very grateful if someone could explain what the Win XP Pro Network
setup disk does when loaded onto another machine.
The reason I'm asking is because I wanted to make a network connection
between my laptop and desktop - both running XP pro.
I thought I'd set them up correctly manually i.e. workgroup name and drive
sharing permissions etc etc but they just couldn't see each other.
But once I'd created the setup disc on my desktop and then ran it on the
laptop - hey presto it worked! Great!
So now I'm curious to know what it did automatically that I couldn't do
manually.
Thanks a lot
Ian
