What does the bootcfg option /fastdetect do?

I can't seem to find a decent MS article that tells me
exactly what this does. Thanks in advance for any

It does this:
/FASTDETECT ( FASTDETECT : causes NTDETECT to skip parallel and serial
device enumeration)
