What does Table - Set As Default Table mean?

I think we had discussed this before...checking this box in Table Properties
doesn't seem to do what one expects it to do - apply this particular table
style/format to a new table when you create one...or am I missing something?

It does, or it should (except for the default number of columns and rows -
that always gets reset to 2). What are you seeing?

I must be doing something wrong.
Create a new table (ok I know about not keeping the col/row #)...set font
style and size (10px)...whatever. FP assigns a table# . Come out of that
box...back to main one click on Save as Default Table. Create a new table
Insert | Table and nothing is remembered in Modified Styles.

I'm missing something right?

I don't get it... must be doing something wrong. They couldn't have a check
box that doesn't do what it seems could they?

Yes they could.

No don't tell me, a featureless feature. No really...have you tried it?
I must be doing something stupid.

The default table settings does keep the cellpadding, cellspacing and
border values - it seems to be restricted to what is on that dialogue
page (apart from rows and columns and ... - I have not checked all the
features there.)
