It means that you are observing a bug. In this case, one caused by the use
of an OS feature based on Terminal Services--Remote Desktop, Remote
Assistance, or Fast User Switching.
Message from The Netherlands. I've also experienced this
Blue Icon, and yes, after switchting back from Fast User
Switching. Thanks for the info! I'm also helped with this
information. Jan van den Eeden. The Netherlands.
Can you be a little more explicit regarding this?
I have just downloaded the latest update (3/10/05) and
since this, the system tray icon has turned blue.
With reference to your post, the only Terminal Service
running is 'Fast User Switching' but this has been active
all the time and did not cause the tray icon to change
prior to applying the update.
Bill Sanderson said:I don't have any information about the precise trigger mechanism--just that
it "relates"--which information comes from a post from Steve Dodson of
Microsoft. So far, no evidence belying this connection has come forth.
So--I can't tell you what the trigger is, just that if you didn't have FUS
or Remote Desktop or Remote Assistance enabled, and probably actually in
use,. it wouldn't happen, and that there is no intentonal significance to
the change.
