Just FYI

It's just another way to switch among open apps. The old ways all still work
too.

Flip 3D doesn't slow down your computer.

It only works with Aero.

Is the new windowss 3D filp any use or does it just slow dowm your computer?
Do you need to have a super high power graphics card, that supprots AERO, to
use it?

What is Flip 3D?

In my Quick Launch Tool Bar I have 2 icons, "Show Desktop" and the other,
"Switch between Windows". See nothing about "Flip 3D"

Thanks

its a little bit of 3d flip, for a huge vista flop

its just eye candy... you can have something similar with xp using a free
application called
TOPDESK... and with that it can work with far older graphic cards too

I have to agree, but since I use several different computers/OS's for my
work I was already familiar with Expose in OS X. I suspect the reason that
Microsoft didn't implement something like Expose is because they didn't want
to be accused of stealing Apple's ideas, again.

I use Win XP Pro and Win 2000 at work. At home, my computer has Vista and
the other three have XP Pro. About the only thing I truly miss here at work
is IE 7. I love the tabs.

Other than that, ya do what ya gotta do, right? ;-)

Like they did here? ...

Cheers.

The "Wow" starts now.

Windows is not a virus! Viruses are small, efficient and built to get a job
done. Windows on the other hand ...

Actually, TopDesk is commercialware, not freeware. There is, however, a 30
day downloadable trial version.

Not usefull for me at all really.

If Im going to go down to my start bar to hit the 3D flip button I might as
well just choose the window that I want to bring forward by clicking on it's
button on the start bar instead and save some time.

Looks pretty and all but I doubt I'll ever get out the habbit of using
ALT+TAB.

I'm new to Vista, so this might be well known, but just in case, I hope you
realize that pressing Tab while holding the Win key cycles thru all windows
until you find the one you want to bring to the front. While this is
similar to Alt+Tab, the windows are bigger and it's easier (for me) to find
the one I want, especially if I have several similar windows open. You
don't have to find and select the 3D Flip icon. If you're handy with the
keyboard, which you seem to be, you don't even need to keep the icon in the
Quick Launch toolbar, I don't.

Cheers, Dave

Win key + tab, or Win key + 2. The Windows key + number opens the quick
launch that corresponds to the number. If my hands are already on the
keyboard, I use Win + tab. Otherwise, I just click on the window itself.
