What do I need?

I want to make my current PC (which is running vista) into a media center,
connect to my TV for the recording, rewinding pausing TV type thing. Now
Vista will do the job but not sure on what hardware I need. Any help.
 
You might want to have a look at http://www.hauppauge.com/ as they have
a complete line of products for exactly what you want to do, and in many
price ranges.

The only thing I would add about Hauppauge is: great hardware, lousy
software. But by using Windows Media Centre, as Steveo suggests, you get
the best of both worlds.
