what did I get?

I upgraded my AIW 9000pro last week to a Powercolor 9600pro 256mb. Have seen
some stuff on noticeboards saying that this card is no good as its an EZ. I
remeber seeing something on the box a little sticker which had EZ/EZ on it but
not sure as Ive thrown box.

What does it mean by EZ and does it make much difference, I dont o'clock or
anything. MY 3d Mark 03 was around 2600 have 512mb ram & AMD 2400+.

I've heard that "EZ" means that the clock processor of the graphic card
it's slower than the normal.

By the way, I just bought a Powercolor Radeon 9600 Pro - 128 MB (not EZ) ,
and my score in 3dmark03 is about 3200. My system is a Pentium 4 1.7 Ghz,
512 mb ram Bus 400 Mhz.

The difference is in the engine (GPU) clock and the memory clock.

I made this chart to illustrate the differences. (hope it will look ok)

------------------------- Pro pro EZ Non-pro
Engine Clock (MHz) 400 400 325
Memory Clock (MHz) 600 400 400

So the "pro EZ" has the same memory clock (400MHz) as a non pro. So it will
perform somewhere between a regular pro and non-pro.

That's what I have been looking for. That's for that old_dog. Looking to
get me a 9600Pro as an upgrade from a GF3ti200. Another machine here will
get the GF3.
