I have tried everything to get this to work!!! Windows Vista 32bit RC1 works
fine and installed. My monitor is connected to my PCI-E nvidia 7900gt and
windows vista shows up fine. Then I noticed I didn't have aero glass- just
basic Aero. So I investgated and looked into my display properties- There
was no video card- everything was blank. I clicked properties and it
said"vgaSave". I went into Device Manager to see what was wrong- Displays
was not a catagory but under system devices, there were four items that said
"nForce4 PCI-Express Root Port", each with a yellow ! next to it. I
investigated and it said that it required more resources (code 12).
After this I tried everything. BIOS(including enableing ACPI), nvidia
drivers(none which worked) and endless restarts trying to figure this out. I
found nothing. Is it a video card problem or a mobo problem? How can I fix
it? I would love any help. Thanks.

System specs:

Processor: AMD Athlon 3400+ 2.4GHz
1gb Ram
160Gb Hard drive
Motherboard: nForce4Sli (EPoX 8NPASLi)
Video Card: Evga eForce 7900 (it even says Vista Ready on the box)

I did the Vista upgrade check and everything was good.

Thanks for all and any help!

Since you don't say what release of Vista you are running or if it was
installed as an upgrade or as a new install and you don't say which NVIDIA
Vista drivers you have tried it s pretty hard to provide any meaningful
help.

Check device manager/computer ... it should read "acpi-x86 based pc" not
"advanced configuration and power interface". x86 was the only one my asus
nforce4 would allow the vid card and pci express root stuff to work.
