what control should I use?

Hi,

I have an access form with a drop down list with values.
The item in the drop down list determines the query parameter for a
stored procedure to return a result set and populate a grid at the bottom of
the
form.

I need a control that can do the following:

change the background color of entire columns, rows, or cells.

put a check box inside a cell. Access the checkbox value inside the cell
form VBA code and use and manipulate it.

Basically , need a fully programmable like structure.

I am hoping a standard subreport has this functionality. as I need a grid
that is a
window to an updateable recordset that can be manually updated automatically
as
provided by the out of the box functionality of reports.

You can check out the help file for conditional formatting, as that will
allow you to highlight a row.

The above shows you how you can have a check box on a grid layout..and
set/un-set the check box....
