I am using Windows 98SE and IE6.
One day, over two weeks ago, IE6 gave me nothing but a blank page.
I tried all the options available on Add/Delete programs through Control
Panel.
I posted my problem on this newsgroup and proceeded to chase more wild geese
than you can shake a stick at.
I had no choice but to use my Recovery CD-ROM, which formats my hard drive
and reinstalls WIN 98SE.
After getting everything in order, IE 6 allowed me to access the Internet.
Problem solved? No!
After checking my email, I again tried IE6 and received the same blank page
I had received before.
After chasing a few more wild geese, I again used my Recovery CD. This time
I completed every thing on a Sunday afternoon. I was able to access the
Internet all the rest of that day and the first time Monday morning. During
this time I downloaded FireFox. Problem
solved? NO!
The second time I tried that Monday, the blank screen was back.
The next time I used the Recovery CD, I did it on a Friday and I did not try
to access the Internet until after 8 PM MST.
Everything worked fine all Friday evening, all day Saturday, all day Sunday,
and the first time Monday morning. The second time Monday, the blank screen
again.
This past Monday I used the Recovery CD again and did not try to access the
Internet until after 8 PM MST. Everything is fine. I next tried to access
the Internet after 8 PM MST on Tuesday. Everything is OK. I tried again last
night, after 8 PM MST and again everything is fine.
What conclusion would you draw from this?
