What changes in RC2?

Hi Beck,

Features were locked in an earlier build. What is coming out now are builds
with code fixes to address various bugs, etc. Any future features will
likely be downloadable add-ons released later or come in Service Packs.

HI Rick, thanks for the reply. So no new features in this version then?
I hope they address some of the bug fixes I sent forward. Although most of
these are driver related so I guess its down to the manufacturers to sort
it.

Hi Beck,

Lots of bug fixes from I've seen are being addressed. On the driver side,
which is a vast majority as I understand it, they responsibility lies with
both MS and the manufacturer. MS writes some of them, but more importantly
provides the specifications for them. Until the OS code is locked down, it's
difficult for the vendors to release fully compatible drivers. It's a crap
shoot at times, so this is why many vendors do not release drivers until the
OS itself is released.

I have not had a chance to play in depth but I just tried my Quake 4 on RC2
and can now start the game with the multi cpu/core setting enabled. It
never worked before, And never at all on XP so I am chuffed to be able to
play this game I got last Xmas.
Will carry on testing later.

I have two specific problems. Realtek AC97 sound drivers give me an annoying
pop up. Also DVD maker says my graphics card does not meet minimum
requirements, but I think thats a lie. :-)

Sounds like they are optimising it more now. Promising.

Lets hope so.

Yes, there are Some New Bugs and Bug Fixes in This Build. Other than that,
there is nothing else new in this release.
