What causes this error?

I have the following error on my Windows 2000 Pro SP4 with all current
SP/Updates/Patches:

Event ID: 7023
Date: 10/23/2003

Computer: 2K-20967-IS
Description:
The Intel File Transfer service terminated with the following error:
The handle is invalid.

My machine just locks up when I want to browes the network drives.
