What brand of common Flash drive is best?

<opinion> I am not happy with the software that sandisk puts on their
flash drives. As pen drives generally work WELL without it. Go with
almost any other brand besides sandisk. </opinion>
 
Sandisk 1GB here. Plug and play, no problems in XP.

Did encounter one problem with it in Window Millenium. After a read usage
(no writes) on another PC using XP, on my PC Win ME couldn't read it. XP
could on my PC.

Let's review: San Disk makes the best flash drives available, but one
should not buy them because they might have some software on them that *you*
do not like?

Have you ever heard of a little thing called "delete"?

I guess you would not buy a new car that has everything you want because it
has the wrong brand of tires on it.
