Do you have atwist grip joystick? You want to rudder the plane to the centre line and pull up at maybe 100mph for a spitfire, which is perhaps 80 or 85kts. Remember those flaps.

You should just have to stick the throttle to the max, release the brake and then build up speed and slowly pull back once you've reached ~80kts as Chris says.
