What are these files?

On the 10th of this month I noticed that my external drives had
suddenly become active. On checking I see several hidden files have
appeared on each of my three drives. These are:

ffastun0.ffx
ffastun.ffl
ffastun.ffa
ffastun.ffo
ffastun.ffl

The disks are scanned twice a day, even when I'm not using the
computer and properties for all the files give the 10th as they date
they were created and the current day/time as last modified. The only
new program installed recently was Office97 and it could be that these
are connected with that program, some indexing maybe.

Does anyone know for certain?

It needs civilization, it needs second thoughts,
to realise that Napoleon and Ceasar and Alexander
are not really the highest types of humanity,
that war making is not a glory but a crime

All of these files are part of MS Office's Find Fast feature which builds a
database of files on the hard drive. Check the windows startup folder and
delete the FindFast icon to prevent them from returning.

Many thanks, I'll do that.

Failing that, look in the Control Panel, might be an entry there.
