I successfully upgraded my 400mhz IBM computer from W2k
to WinXp. However, my system no longer recognized my
modemd. I have 2 ISA and 2 PCI internal modems, but I am
getting no where. Only one of the PCI modems receives a
message of "new hardware added" when installed. It is
recognized as "serial port device." I have used all the
winxp drivers available for each modem but no luck. I
was told by a tech guy Win Modems should not be
installed. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Hi,

There are many reasons for system hanging.
Can you see any warning messages in the event log?
Pls post abck with details.
